This Tabriz antique rug measures 10' 8" x 16' 0" and is woven in wool with a timeworn palette of deep navy, faded indigo, ivory, rust, and muted blue-grey. The field is filled with small-scale floral motifs, scrolling vines, and palmettes, all framed by a layered border that carries its own rhythm of medallions and rosettes. Its medium distress lends the surface a softened, painterly character, with visible wear that blurs the contrasts in a restrained way. Circa 1910 - 1940, it reflects the composure and intricacy associated with Tabriz design.
