This Agra antique rug, measuring 9' 8" x 11' 9", carries a layered, time-softened presence with a deep burgundy field, ivory surround, and muted accents of rose, taupe, and pale blue. The composition centers on a richly worn inner field framed by a broad border of repeating medallions and scrolling floral ornament, giving the whole piece a balanced, architectural feel. Medium distress has mellowed the pattern and softened the contrast in a way that feels integrated rather than diminished. Circa 1900 - 1915, it reflects the graceful wear and decorative restraint associated with the Agra tradition.
