This Caucasian antique rug measures 3' 5" x 8' 4" and presents a tall, structured field of geometric boteh-like forms set within layered borders of rosettes and angular motifs. The palette moves between deep navy, rust red, ivory, sage, and muted gold, with the darker centre giving the composition its depth and rhythm. Wool pile lends a tactile, grounded surface, while the low distress keeps the pattern legible without losing age. Circa 1880 - 1895, it carries the bold clarity and finely worked symmetry associated with Caucasian weaving. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
