This Mahal antique rug measures 8' 9" x 12' 5", with an allover floral field softened by time and a layered border that still holds its rhythm. Wool lends the surface a dry, tactile presence, while the faded ivory ground allows rust, teal blue, pale green, and warm brown notes to drift in and out of focus. The composition feels ordered yet relaxed, with visible wear and gentle abrasion creating a luminous patina. Circa 1915 - 1930, it carries the quiet depth and softened geometry often associated with Mahal weaving.
