This Mahal antique rug measures 7' 3" x 10' 10" and carries a softly worn, layered presence. A faded sky blue ground is threaded with terracotta, rust, sand, and charcoal, allowing the central diamond medallion and field of geometric floral motifs to emerge through the surface. The border remains legible, with repeated decorative panels framing the composition in a restrained but expressive rhythm. Medium wear has softened the drawing and lifted the colour into a hazy patina. Circa 1915 - 1930, this wool rug feels grounded, textural, and quietly architectural.
