This Agra antique rug in wool measures 13' 5" x 18' 6" and carries a quietly layered field of floral tracery softened by time. A restrained border frames the composition with dark, leafy ornament against a pale ground, while the interior reads as an allover haze of scrolling motifs and small repeating forms. The palette settles into neutral brown, cream, and white tones with lived-in fading that lends depth rather than clarity. Circa 1895 - 1910, it has the settled character and surface variation that define a well-aged Agra. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
