This Ravar Kerman antique rug measures 4' 0" x 6' 4" and carries the softened elegance that comes from age and use. A pale ground supports a formal central arrangement of vases, florals, and scrolling ornament, framed by a richly layered border in plum, blue, and muted rose. Wool gives the surface a gentle hand, while medium distress has mellowed the contrast and lifted the composition into a more atmospheric register. Circa 1900 - 1915, it reads as both detailed and faded, with the kind of restrained patina that lets the drawing and colour remain quietly present.
