This Caucasian antique rug, measuring 5' 3" x 9' 2", presents a layered tribal composition with stacked octagonal medallions, angular borders, and narrow guard stripes that frame the field with strong graphic rhythm. Wool surfaces in red, cream, neutral, and dark accents are softened by visible abrash and even wear, giving the design a quiet, timeworn depth. The central motifs remain lively against the faded ground, where older color and light patina settle into one another. Circa 1880 - 1910.
