This Caucasian antique rug measures 4' 6" x 6' 1" and carries a composed, timeworn presence in wool. A deep blue field supports an all-over arrangement of floral medallions and stylised blossoms, while cream, pale peach, and warm brown soften the geometry with quiet contrast. The layered borders, including a diagonal-striped outer frame, add rhythm without overwhelming the centre. Low distress and gentle fading lend the surface an honest, lived-in patina. Circa 1880 - 1900, it reads as restrained, decorative, and deeply rooted in the visual language of Caucasian weaving.
