This Heriz antique rug in wool measures 7' 8" x 10' 4" and carries the grounded geometry the type is known for. A brick red field is worked with indigo, ivory, olive, and muted brown, while stepped medallions and angular floral forms create a dense, balanced composition. The border settles the design with a darker frame and small repeating motifs that echo the centre. Visible wear has softened the drawing and lightened portions of the surface, giving the piece an eased, lived-in presence. Circa 1900 - 1915. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
