This Mahal antique rug measures 10' 4" x 13' 0" and carries an all-over floral composition softened by time. A red ground is layered with blue, cream, and white scrolling vines, medallion-like blossoms, and compact palmettes, while the border holds the design with a cooler blue register. The wool surface shows medium distress, with gentle fading that mutes the contrast and gives the piece an even, well-tuned patina. Circa 1910 - 1930, it reads as both ornate and quiet, with a lived-in softness that preserves the clarity of its Mahal character.
