This Mahal antique rug in wool measures 10' 5" x 14' 2" and reads with a softly weathered elegance. A layered field of floral motifs and scrolling ornament sits beneath a faded medallion impression, while the border remains visible in muted bands of coral, teal, and cream. The palette feels mineral and hushed, with broad areas of abrasion that have mellowed the design into a near-ghosted composition. Circa 1900 - 1915, it carries the patina and quiet depth that define a lived-in Mahal. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
