This Mahal antique rug measures 8' 0" x 11' 5" and carries the softened elegance of a well-aged field piece. Its wool surface blends ivory, cream, faded blue, muted rust, and taupe into an allover floral lattice framed by a restrained border and dark corner accents. The pattern remains legible, yet the pile has worn down considerably, leaving a luminous, time-softened field with layered patina. Circa 1900 - 1915, it reflects the quieter side of Mahal design, where ornament, fade, and texture work together in a grounded, atmospheric composition.
