This Mahal antique rug, measuring 8' 4" x 12' 0", presents a quietly layered field of faded cream and white, with washed blue undertones and traces of rust and brown still visible beneath the wear. A softened central medallion and stepped geometric forms sit inside a detailed floral border, giving the composition its restrained structure even as the surface has mellowed with age. The high distress level lends a dry, airy texture and a beautifully lived-in finish. Circa 1900 - 1915. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
