This Mahal antique rug measures 10' 5" x 13' 4" and presents an allover floral field softened by time. The composition reads in layers, with scrolling vines, palmettes, and a detailed border that frames the worn centre. Cream and warm brown ground tones are lifted by faded terracotta, sage, and grey-blue accents, giving the piece a quiet depth. High distress has erased portions of the design, leaving a beautifully washed surface with tactile variation. Circa 1905 - 1920, it carries the grounded character and age-worn elegance that define a well-lived Mahal.
