This Mahal antique rug, 12' 6" x 15' 9", carries an allover floral field softened by time and wear. Rust brown grounds are lifted by cream, beige, taupe, and muted blue notes, while the broad border frames the composition with a quiet, formal rhythm. The design reads with layered palmettes, scrolling vines, and delicate rosettes, now mellowed into a richly faded surface. Woven in wool, it has the understated depth and lived-in texture that define a well-aged piece. Circa 1910 - 1930. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
