This Mahal antique rug measures 10' 2" x 14' 9" and shows the softened character of a well-worn wool field. A rust brown ground supports an allover floral composition in teal blue, cream, and ivory, framed by a layered border that keeps the design anchored despite the visible fade. The surface carries medium distress, with luminous worn passages and gentle tonal variation that add depth rather than distraction. Circa 1910 - 1925, it reflects the familiar balance of ornament and restraint associated with Mahal weaving. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
