This Caucasian antique rug measures 3' 10" x 6' 1" and presents a finely balanced field of stepped octagonal medallions set within a structured lattice. Ivory ground tones are lifted by faded red, indigo, teal, and gold, while the borders carry small floral and angular forms that keep the composition lively from edge to edge. Areas of wear and soft fading lend the surface a quiet patina, with the wool reading warm and timeworn. Circa 1885 - 1910, it reflects the graphic clarity and layered colour seen in collected Caucasian weaving.
