This Mahal antique rug, 13' 2" x 16' 2", is woven in wool and carries a quietly weathered palette of cream, pale blue, muted coral, taupe, and soft grey. The allover field is softened by time, allowing floral and boteh-style motifs to emerge in layered repetition beneath a beautifully worn surface. A structured border system still frames the composition with delicacy, even as the centre reads with high distress and gentle fading. Circa 1925 - 1940, it offers the patina and restraint that define a lived-in Mahal with depth and presence.
