This Mallayer antique rug measures 2' 8" x 13' 1" and presents a long, disciplined format with a richly worked allover field. The brown ground is layered with neutral, cream, white, rust, and muted blue accents, giving the surface depth and quiet contrast. Repeating floral medallions and angular vines move through the centre, while a narrow ivory border frames the composition with crisp, graphic restraint. The pile shows low distress and a softened patina that feels honest and lived with. Circa 1900 - 1925, it carries the layered character and decorative clarity associated with a finely worn Mallayer.
