This Mallayer antique rug measures 12' 1" x 16' 7" and presents a softly faded field of ivory, cream, taupe, and muted blue-grey. The composition is layered and refined, with an allover floral lattice, small geometric inflections, and a series of narrow borders that frame the design without interrupting its quiet rhythm. Woven in wool, the surface shows medium wear, with hazy abrasion and tonal softening that lend depth to the pattern. Circa 1900 - 1915, it carries the composed elegance and patina that define a well-aged Mallayer. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
