This Mallayer antique rug measures 12' 3" x 17' 1" and carries a softly faded field of neutral, cream, and muted green tones with traces of blue and brown. An allover floral composition sits inside a layered border, where rosettes, palmettes, and small medallion forms emerge and recede across the surface. The weathered finish gives the drawing a luminous, painterly depth, while the distress level remains balanced and readable. Circa 1900 - 1920, it reflects the graceful restraint and lived-in character associated with a well-aged Mallayer. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
