This Caucasian antique rug measures 3' 6" x 5' 6" and shows a richly layered palette of navy, ivory, cream, muted red, and light blue. A deep field frames a stepped medallion and repeating rosettes, while the border remains active with small geometric motifs and softened tribal detail. The surface carries low distress, with extensive abrading that has flattened the contrast and given the composition a quiet, timeworn patina. Circa 1880 - 1900, it reads as a graphic, well-travelled textile with enduring structure and faded clarity. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
