This Mahal antique rug measures 8' 1" x 12' 0" and presents a densely layered allover floral field surrounded by a richly patterned border. The palette moves between teal, brown, rust, ivory, and faded blue, creating depth even where the surface has softened with age. A network of palmettes, vines, and small decorative blossoms gives the composition a steady rhythm, while the worn areas lend the piece a quiet, timeworn patina. Circa 1910 - 1925, it reads as both grounded and intricately worked, with an atmosphere shaped by light abrasion and mellowed colour.
