This Mahal antique rug measures 12' 1" x 19' 5" and presents a richly layered allover floral composition softened by age. A muted ground of cream and warm neutral is threaded with faded red, soft green, pale blue, and dusty teal, giving the surface a quietly weathered depth. The border frames the field with a calmer rhythm, while the interior remains full of scrolling arabesques and floral detail. Medium distress and broad fading lend an even, lived-in character. Circa 1925 - 1940, it carries the gentle atmosphere and restrained colour movement that define the Mahal tradition.
