This Mahal antique rug measures 8' 6" x 12' 4", with a timeworn surface that gives its floral field a painterly, low-contrast depth. Teal, rust red, muted blue, ivory, and taupe settle into one another across an allover composition of scrolling vines, boteh, and a softened border. The central presence is subdued rather than explicit, allowing the design to read as atmospheric and layered. Circa 1920 - 1935, it carries the quiet character of age in its faded palette and worn texture, while still retaining the structure and grace that define the Mahal tradition.
