This Mahal antique rug measures 8' 7" x 10' 4" and presents a softly erased field of floral ornament beneath broad passages of ivory and cream. Muted red, sage, and taupe details remain most visible along the border and in scattered medallion forms, giving the piece a layered, timeworn register. The surface reads dry and heavily distressed, with fading that blurs the drawing into a hazy, atmospheric whole. Circa 1910 - 1930, it carries the quiet depth and restrained palette that define the Mahal tradition. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
