This Mahal antique rug measures 9' 7" x 13' 2" and carries a washed, time-softened presence. A faded teal field sits beneath layers of cream, ivory, blush, and warm grey, where floral forms and scrolling vines emerge and recede across the surface. The border remains visible but gently worn, lending structure to the composition without interrupting its haze. High distress has softened the contrast and blurred the original pattern into an atmospheric whole. Circa 1900 - 1920, it reflects the restrained elegance and patina often sought in antique rug examples from this tradition.
