This Mallayer antique rug measures 4' 2" x 6' 5" and presents a restrained, weathered palette of blue, brown, and neutral ivory. The field is layered with a small-scale geometric repeat that shifts in tone from deep indigo to softened sky blue, creating a muted, striated effect. Multiple border bands, each with floral and angular ornament, hold the composition in place. Medium distress is visible throughout, with fading and abrasion that add depth without losing the clarity of the design. Circa 1925 - 1950, it carries the quiet character of a well-aged textile.
