This Mahal antique rug measures 8' 6" x 12' 2" and carries the softened grandeur of a well-aged Persian design. A layered field of floral rosettes, scrolling vines, and muted medallion cues sits within a narrow border, all washed into cream, ivory, taupe, and faded blue with traces of rust. The composition feels calm yet richly worked, with medium distress that has flattened the contrast and given the surface a timeworn glow. Circa 1915 - 1945, it reads as collected and lived-with, rather than overly restored. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
