This Mallayer antique rug measures 2' 9" x 10' 2" and presents a long, narrow field shaped by layered geometric medallions and a repeating floral border. The composition is richly worn, with a softened central axis, faded rust and terracotta accents, and a grounded neutral-brown ground that reads warmly under age. Pattern detail remains visible despite the medium distress, giving the surface a quiet depth and a tactile, timeworn character. Circa 1895 - 1910, it carries the restrained complexity and lived-in patina that define the most compelling antique rug examples from this weaving tradition.
