This Mahal antique rug measures 7' 2" x 18' 7", with a long, graceful format and a field that has softened into layers of ivory, cream, beige, and muted sage. The composition retains its floral border, inner guard bands, and allover Persianate detail, though much of the drawing has been gently erased by age and wear. The result is quiet, textured, and atmospheric, with a lived-in surface that reads as both restrained and richly dimensional. Circa 1915 - 1930. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
