This Silk Sivas is rendered in silk and measures 9' 7" x 13' 5". A large tree-of-life medallion rises through a dense floral field populated with stylised birds and a small figural register at the base. The neutral and pale blue palette sits against warm highlights, the silk pile giving a luminous, tactile sheen. Borders are finely articulated with layered floral cartouches that frame the central composition. Wear is low and the surface shows subtle abrash that reads as atmospheric age. An antique rug with a restrained, museum-ready presence. Circa 1885 - 1915
