This Tapestry presents a figural pastoral scene in wool, its field measuring 6' 4" x 9' 3". A seated pair and a standing attendant inhabit a softened landscape, contained by an elaborate floral border. The palette is quietly muted, cream, white, neutral and warm brown, and the surface shows medium distress with abrash and gentle abrasion that mellow outlines and deepen tone. The hand and layered patina read as long-lived; the textile feels tactile and lived-in. This antique rug retains compositional clarity while bearing the marks of age. Circa 1800 - 1820
