A wool Tapestry measuring 6' 0" x 5' 0" that reads like a painted panel; this antique rug depicts a pastoral figural scene beneath broad trees, shepherds and animals arranged with classical balance. Warm neutrals and brown grounds are lifted by cream and white highlights, creating a soft, painterly surface. Low distress and a subtle surface patina preserve the imagery while lending an honest, timeworn character.
