An elegant Tabriz rendered in a restrained neutral palette, this wool rug measures 12' 10" x 22' 10". A large, faded central medallion anchors a field of scrolling vines, palmettes and fine floral sprigs, while layered guard borders frame the composition. The soft cream ground and muted beige and taupe accents show even abrash and medium wear that smooths the pile and lends a tactile, timeworn surface. The effect is quietly heirloom; pattern and patina read in equal measure. This antique rug feels refined and lived-in. Circa 1900 - 1920
