The central field depicts boats, figures and architectural forms worked in soft, painterly strokes; the composition preserves a lyrical sense of movement and tactility. The surface shows even fading and gentle abrash that enhance its timeworn character. As an antique rug it carries the quiet patina of prolonged use while remaining structurally sound.
