A muted Tabriz in wool, its large-scale palmettes and scrolling vine laid across a washed blue-grey field with warm rust and cream accents. The 8' 10" x 11' 4" format reveals a softened centre where abrash and careful repairs read as patina; medium distress has flattened contrast and produced a painterly, tactile surface. A wide rust border with repeating rosettes contains the design while paler guard stripes offer quiet punctuation. The wool shows subdued texture and colour depth, a restrained composition that favours material presence and age. This antique rug carries an assured, lived-in character. Circa 1900 - 1920
