An elegant Kashan in wool, this antique rug measures 10' 6" x 15' 2". A centered medallion settles into a dense field of palmettes, arabesques and vinework rendered in warm rust-red, muted gold and deep navy. The ground holds a restrained neutral color that allows pattern and negative space to read in balance; borders present tighter floral registers and subtle guard stripes. Low overall distress preserves a soft, tactile pile and crisp motif definition while gentle abrash and mellowed highlights attest to age and use. Circa 1910 - 1930, the piece reads as a quietly formal, heritage object with a composed hand.
