This Tabriz antique rug is a large, softly muted wool field defined by an all-over floral arabesque and a broad floral border. Rendered in layered neutral, brown, cream and white tones, its surface carries a lived-in patina with measured abrash and medium distress that reveals warmer underlayers. Repeated palmettes, scrolling vines and softened medallion suggestions resolve into a rhythmic composition that reads as both ornament and ground. The worn surface and tactile pile lend a heritage-aware presence, quietly refined by time and handling. Circa 1890 - 1930. 9' 7" x 13' 3".
