This Tabriz presents a softly worn, allover garden lattice rendered in faded rose and pale green on an ivory ground. The 12' 8" x 21' 0" scale emphasizes repeating palmettes and delicate rosettes, their outlines softened by time and use. Medium distress and subtle abrash lend an airy, tactile surface while the borders read as quietly luminous frames. The wool field keeps the design expressive even where colour has faded, giving the piece a layered patina that reads as both history and hand. Circa 1905 - 1920. This antique rug is an exercise in aged refinement and composed detail.
