A restrained Tabriz in warm golds and neutral browns, this antique rug measures 14' 2" x 21' 6" and presents a large geometric medallion set within an expansive, softly faded field. The borders carry repeating floral vines and guard bands rendered in brown outlines that read with quiet, classical precision. Surface abrash and a medium level of distress lend a tactile patina, softening contrasts and revealing the slow accumulation of use. The overall effect is disciplined and serene, a study in balanced proportion and refined ornament drawn from Tabriz sensibilities. Circa 1920 - 1935.
