This Kerman is a large, quietly hued antique rug woven in wool and scaled for generous interiors. At 14' 8" x 25' 4" the field reads as an allover flowering vine, its small-scale floral sprays traced in cream, pale blue and soft peach against a neutral ground. The borders reiterate the same botanical language in a restrained, layered frame. Surface wear is moderate, giving the piece a softly faded, satin patina that underscores its age and hand. Circa 1890 - 1930. The overall effect is tactile and atmospheric, a refined study in faded color and patient craft.
