An octagonal European wool rug articulated in a restrained classical vocabulary: a central floral medallion framed by a laurel wreath, a rusted gold reserve with pale garland swags, and a Greek key outer band. The neutral field has softened to warm ivory with painterly abrash; golds and browns carry a mellow patina from medium wear. The wool pile reads soft and low, with subtle pile loss and softened borders that emphasise the rug's age. This antique rug reads as an architectural textile, quietly decorative and tactile.
