This Bibikabad is an expansive antique rug, 12' 9" x 17' 4", defined by an indigo field studded with repeating palmette medallions and a warm rust-gold main border. The wool pile retains a subtle luster; pattern edges show a gentle abrash that speaks to age without heavy loss. Composition and weaving yield a rich, layered surface where cream and pale blue-green highlights lift the deeper tones. Circa 1880 - 1910. The overall condition is low distress, allowing the design language and tactile silkiness of the wool to remain the principal character of the piece.
