This Bibikabad antique rug measures 13' 3" x 22' 0" and carries a richly worn surface that softens its original geometry into a painterly field. The composition holds a faded central medallion within layered borders, with floral latticework, palmettes, and vine motifs emerging in muted blue, cream, and sand tones. Areas of heavy wear and luminous abrasion open the design further, giving the piece a dry, timeworn texture. Circa 1880 - 1910, it reflects the layered quiet of an antique rug with restrained colour and a lived-in presence. The softened surface retains a quiet, tactile character shaped by time.
