A measured calm defines this Chinese wool rug. A soft, neutral field (cream to warm beige) carries dispersed floral sprays, stylised boteh elements and a restrained central roundel with an animal motif at its centre. A navy meander inner border and a narrow floral outer guard frame the composition, the palette resolved in navy, rust and soft blue accents. The pile shows medium, even wear and areas of abrash that read as atmosphere rather than damage, lending a tactile, lived-in surface to the piece. Circa 1910 - 1930. Exact size: 12' 8" x 17' 5".
