A restrained Tabriz in wool, this antique rug measures 8' 7" x 12' 0" and reads as a soft study in neutral and cream. A pale central medallion sits within an allover palmette and scrolling vine field, punctuated by navy and powder-blue accents that remain vivid against a worn beige ground. The broad floral border and cornerpieces are softened by even medium distress and subtle abrash, which reveal layered tones and a tactile surface. Time has mellowed the pattern while preserving its classical symmetry and hand-drawn motifs. Circa 1910 - 1930
