The wool pile has mellowed to a tactile patina; abrash and scattered surface loss lend an authentic, lived-in depth to the pattern. Measure 6' 2" x 9' 9"; the proportions feel balanced and linear. A study in tempered colour and handwork, this antique rug reads as both domestic and archival, its worn highlights revealing the craft beneath. Circa 1890 - 1910.
