A large Tabriz in wool, defined by a bold central medallion and an expansive scalloped field of scrolling floral arabesques. The 10' 6" x 17' 4" scale gives space to finely drawn palmettes, paler ground cartouches and layered guard borders in neutral, gold and cream tones with touches of blue and navy. Surface wear is modest and the pile retains a tactile, settled hand; the overall feeling is refined rather than pristine. This antique rug reads as a well-aged studio piece that balances pattern and calm. Circa 1885 - 1915
